Featured CraftWish Box
Here’s a good idea that’s also a great place to keep your small treasures. To make your Wish Box, you will need lots of imagination, and…
One cardboard box of any size or shape (shoeboxes work well)
Lots and lots of magazines (that can be torn up)
Glue and water
Large paint brush
Buttons and string (optional)
Polyurethane (spray can)

- First, look through a variety of magazines and tear out pictures that you like. It might be a cute bunny rabbit, a cool sports car, or just a yummy looking cake—anything that appeals to you. Tear then into small but recognizable pieces.
- Then, mix glue and water together, about 50/50.
- Place the magazine pieces on the shoe box and glue them on using the glue/water mixture and the large paint brush until the entire box is covered. Be sure to paint the glue/water directly onto the box before you place the magazine scrap on it, then brush over the top and edges of the magazine scrap to secure it in place.
- OPTIONAL: If you want a latch, glue a large button on top of a small button and glue the small button onto the front of the box. Then, punch 2 holes in the top front of the box lid, centered above the button and tie the yarn through the hole. To close the box, wrap the yarn over the buttons.
- When your box is done, find a safe place and spray it with polyurethane. Let dry.
- Finally, find a safe place for your Wish Box and fill it with your favorite small treasures.
